Bengaluru's mobility evolution begins from a relatively low base level, but the overriding proactive environment could go far in realising a much cleaner, more efficient transport ecosystem. Air quality and road congestion are currently hampered by a combination of narrow roads, urban sprawl and a vast population of privately-owned two-wheelers. Add in high population density and limited land use, and it's a recipe for gridlock.
