Iveco backs electrification as an attractive option for urban mobility

Commercial vehicles and buses can take full advantage of the benefits that come with eMobility, says Iveco.

As an increasing amount of freight needs to be moved, the commercial vehicle industry must consider a change in the way that it transports goods. Like the passenger car market, trucks and buses are taking advantage of new technologies, making the most of alternative powertrains to ensure that goods arrive in a way that is efficient, affordable and environmentally friendly.

Alessandro Bernardini, Head of Innovation, Truck and Bus, at Iveco, spoke at the Automotive Megatrends Europe 2014 connference about the topic of electric urban mobility, using examples of technologies that have been applied in the passenger market to outline what could be done to drive forward alternative powertrains, particularly those that use electrification.
