Job cuts: suppliers need non-automotive business to survive

The changing geopolitical situation could make supplying just to the automotive industry untenable for large and small companies alike. By Ian Henry

The slowdown in electric vehicle (EV) uptake after a period of heavy funding by automakers and suppliers alike is not good for the industry’s return on investment. Combined with the cost-of-living crisis in Europe and the worsening geopolitical and trading environment, the recently announced job cuts are really not surprising. It seems almost certain that there will be more to come.
