In October 2014, Magna International opened its DexSys greenfield plant in Lansing, Michigan, to manufacture exterior products for a range of General Motors models.
The 290,000 sq-ft facility is currently gearing up an expansion to cater to new programmes from GM – the high performance Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V series, and the new Camaro.
DexSys is strategically located between GM’s Lansing Delta Township and Lansing Grand River facilities in Michigan, and employs around 340 people. Once the expansion is completed, this figure is expected to grow to around 500. During a tour of the plant, Andrew Watson, Assistant General Manager, DexSys, Magna International, told Automotive World, “You couldn’t ask for a better set up to be right between these two plants.”
