Maruti Suzuki defers Gujarat plans by a year

Slowdown in the Indian automotive market over the past couple of financial years hits Maruti's production schedule.

Maruti Suzuki's mood swings with regard to its planned manufacturing facility in the western Indian state of Gujarat continue, with the OEM now postponing plans by one year. The current timeframe proposed by Maruti will see the facility in Gujarat commissioned no earlier than 2017.
