Mazda reveals premium aspirations with CX-9

The CX-9 has gone into production at Hiroshima. The OEM hopes it might change the way it’s perceived. By Xavier Boucherat

Mazda’s 2016 CX-9 crossover has gone into production at its Uijina plant in Hiroshima, Japan. The model, which isn’t sold in Japan, has been tailored to the North American market, which the OEM predicts will account for 80% of the 50,000 units expected to sell globally in 2016.
