Urban mobility is becoming more stressful and currently, 30% of urban traffic congestion is due to people looking for parking. While connected car technology is advancing at an increasing rate, cities are trailing behind, becoming more congested, polluted and stressful environments.
In a presentation at Megatrends USA entitled ‘Connecting Cars for Smarter Cities', Mark Pendergrast, Director of Product Management at road traffic company Inrix, noted that the connected car may hold the key to transforming urban cities, as well as bringing about broader societal benefits.
