Mercedes-Benz upgrades its automated driving system to 95kph

While many remain sceptical about the safety of self-driving technology, Mercedes-Benz sets its sights on the Autobahn. By Stewart Burnett

Mercedes-Benz is demonstrating confidence in its autonomous driving technology. On 23 September 2024, the company announced that all vehicles currently equipped with its Drive Pilot SAE Level 3 driving system will receive an over-the-air update to expand its capabilities. Under certain conditions, the system will be capable of increasing its maximum speed to 95kph on German motorways.
