Mercedes court ruling revives union’s southern offensive

With some minor modifications, the Court of Appeals has upheld the NLRB's ruling allowing Mercedes workers in Alabama to push their case for union representation. By Megan Lampinen

Union representation in the southern US states remains an uphill battle but a recent Court of Appeals ruling paves the way for progress. Trouble has long been brewing at the Mercedes-Benz US International (MBUSI) plant in Vance, Alabama, where some employees want union representation.
