Navistar still waiting for breakthrough

Navistar's Q3 performance fell short of expectations as a revival in its pivotal Class 8 US truck business failed to materialise

Navistar's fiscal third quarter (Q3) performance fell short of expectations as a revival in its pivotal Class 8 US truck business failed to materialise. Overall, the OEM emerged from the three months ended 31 July with a loss of US$28m, a notable deterioration from the US$2m loss in the same quarter last year. Sales revenue came in at US$2.5bn, as growth in the US and Canada was dampened by declines in global operations and its exit from the Blue Diamond Truck joint venture.
