New electric CVs hint at flourishing future market

Pure electric commercial vehicles (CVs) could make sense for a variety of different applications, though most experts believe that short-distance delivery vehicles will be the first to ditch the internal combustion engine (ICE). Some also think that heavy-duty trucks could become electric in the not-so-distant future, with several concepts soon set for launch.

The latest company to join the fray in the electric truck segment is Volkswagen Truck & Bus, with two new models showcased at its recently held Innovation Day in Hamburg, Germany.
