New investments signal Stellantis’ multi-energy future in US

New products and factory adaptations in Michigan suggest Stellantis plans to keep ICE and BEVs close together as it targets US growth. By Will Girling

On 11 September 2024, Stellantis announced that it will invest more than US$406m in its Michigan manufacturing facilities. Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) will take the lion’s share (US$235.5m), while the Warren Truck Assembly Plant (WTAP) and Dundee Engine Plant (DEP) receive US$97.6m and US$73m, respectively.
