It is becoming increasingly important for companies to be able to track vehicles within their fleet to increase uptime, fuel efficiency and safety. For trucks, the opportunity to utilise telematics systems is extending to the trailer itself, and suppliers are developing new systems that help fleet managers improve operational efficiency.
European trailer manufacturer Kögel has developed its own trailer telematics system called Kögel Telematics, consisting of an individual module and supporting web portal. Previously, Kögel Telematics has been an add-on component that worked together with the web-based portal of a partner, but the supplier will now be making use of a completely new system, designed especially for its trailers.
