Nikola order underlines renewed confidence in fuel cell trucks

Anheuser-Busch has announced an order of up to 800 hydrogen-fuelled trucks from Nikola Motors - a huge vote of confidence for heavy duty FCVs. By Celeste Dooley

The future of fuel cell vehicle (FCVs) technology in trucking applications looks markedly brighter in the wake of an announcement from Anheuser-Busch, the St. Louis, Missouri headquartered parent company of Budweiser beer.

In a press release confirming the company’s commitment to ordering up to 800 hydrogen-electric powered semi-trucks from Nikola Motors, Michel Doukeris, Chief Executive of Anheuser-Busch, said, “The transport industry is one that is ripe for innovative solutions and Nikola is leading the way with hydrogen-electric, zero-emission capabilities.
