OEMs opt for partnerships to advance future truck tech

The adoption of new technology in the automotive industry depends heavily on new collaborations as players scramble to stay ahead of developing megatrends. The trucking sector is no exception and, as evidenced by a number of recent partnership announcements, OEMs are looking to outside sources for guidance on the development and deployment of new technologies.

In recent weeks, Daimler Trucks, Scania and Volvo Trucks have announced partnerships with fleet and leasing companies on future truck technology, underlining the need for collaboration with stakeholders beyond the OEM sphere to fine-tune, if not advance next-generation commercial vehicle powertrain and communication solutions.
