OEMs to increase manufacturing sustainability with or without COP21

COP21’s effect on manufacturing will take time to reveal itself, but the incentive is already there for OEMs to embrace sustainable production

With the Volkswagen emissions scandal ongoing, some OEMs were understandably keen for some of the good publicity on offer at the 21st Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP21). Electric Vehicle (EV) fleets, fuel-cell vehicles (FCVs) and hybrid plug-ins all made an appearance, demonstrating the efforts being made to move away from fossil-fuel dependency and internal combustion engines (ICE).
