An anode is a negatively charged electrode, used as a host for storing lithium during charging. A typical lithium-ion battery anode is composed of graphites and other conductive additives. The automotive industry uses lithium-ion batteries extensively in battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
