The US$11.7bn merger of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and TRW in 2015 created a supplier of giant proportions. Among its capabilities in fuel efficiency and vehicle automation, the resulting company – ZF TRW – is now a powerhouse in both active and passive safety technologies.
Aine Denari, Vice President of Business Development and Product Planning at TRW, had previously told Automotive World how there are few suppliers – if any – with ZF TRW’s position “in both active and passive safety, driver assist systems and all the things that lead to success in these megatrends.”
Steve Peterson, Vice President, Global Occupant Safety Systems Engineering, ZF TRW, gave an update on how things have progressed, and how the new company is tackling current and upcoming global issues in vehicle safety.
