Pick-ups to serve as diesel mainstay

Sales of diesel passenger cars never made it very far in the US and in Europe they are on a rapid decline. The fallout from the Volkswagen defeat device debacle continues, and Porsche's powertrain development boss has just been arrested for suspected fraud linked to the scandal. Regulatory pressure, consumer concern and increased scrutiny have clouded the fuel's outlook, but not necessarily in the pick-up segment.
