Porsche’s takeover of tools and dies unit hints at greater aluminium use

By taking over Kuka's tools and dies construction division, Porsche expects to profit from the former's expertise in complex aluminium parts relevant to lightweight design

Last year, robotics manufacturer Kuka Group reported sales of nearly €2.1bn (US$2.39bn), with EBIT of €142m, reflecting profitable growth. The company acknowledged that acquisitions contributed to this growth as well. The group expects sales revenue to increase this year to around €2.8bn.
