Q2 profit declines but BMW sticks with full-year guidance

The tailwind from increased net pricing has now abated, as was particularly noticeable in China where deliveries dropped by 4.8%. By Jonathan Storey

BMW's Q2 results were a little worse than consensus expectations, but there were no major surprises. It reported falls of 0.7% in group revenue, 10.7% in operating profit and 8.6% in pre-tax profit for Q2. Profits at all three divisions—automotive, financial services and motorcycles—were lower.
