Recent hacks ‘canary in the coalmine’ for truck industry

Heavy commercial vehicles (CVs) have been equipped with various technologies which enable the electronic control of driving critical components. Road safety has improved dramatically, but a new issue has raised its head as a result. Just as the electronic communication systems used in passenger cars have been exploited by cyber attacks, so the opportunity for hackers to gain remote control of CVs has also become evident.
