Any kind of manufacturing is an inherently expensive and complex process. For the automotive industry, however, the stakes are arguably higher than most other sectors. Whereas most companies need only worry about choking hazards and sharp edges, consumers place their trust—and their lives—in vehicle manufacturers’ products on a daily basis. The automotive industry cannot afford to cut corners, so gains must instead be made gradually and with great care elsewhere.
