Russia is ‘the place to be’ for global auto suppliers

Continental is willing to face difficult economic conditions, strict localisation requirements and favouritism for domestic players in order to succeed in Russia. By Freddie Holmes

Even well established companies in Russia are finding it difficult to meet increasingly strict government requirements for localisation. Having been present in the market for two decades, Continental is already highly localised, but in many cases it is still deemed ‘global’ as opposed to ‘local’.
