Alongside the likes of China and Mexico, India has presented itself as one of the most attractive emerging markets for foreign investment. Competition in the country is heating up as players look to establish an early foothold – particularly in Pune, now generally regarded as the Detroit of India. The city is awash with OEM activity, from domestic players such as Force Motors, Mahindra Trucks & Bus and Tata Motors, to foreign investors such as General Motors and Mercedes-Benz.
