Attitudes towards car ownership in India are changing. The fifth iteration of the National Family Health Survey (NFHS)-5, which explored households’ means of transportation between 2019 and 2021, found that only 8% owned a car. Furthermore, the survey also found that 20% of Indian households do not own any mode of transport.
