Simulation can open doors for urban vehicle connectivity

Integrating connected vehicles is a tricky task, but simulation can allow stakeholders to maximise efforts and investment. By Jack Hunsley

The long-term outlook for urban mobility sees connected, autonomous vehicles traversing data-enhanced city streets. Communicating with anything from streetlights to nearby mobile phones, the hope is that tomorrow’s smart cities can combine a wealth of crowd-sourced data to enable a more efficient, sustainable, and safer urban future. However, that future is still many years away.
