Simulation is becoming an increasingly accepted aspect of manufacturing. The divergence from traditional physical testing, which can be inconvenient and expensive, towards algorithm and screen-based testing, could change the way in which different powertrains are developed and the speed of their adoption in the market.
A number of companies, including Exa and AVL, are striving to encourage OEMs to move away from traditional methods of testing and to take a more digital approach, one that has proven itself as effective as the former.
