Slowly but surely, eCall advances

Progress has been slow but the pace is picking up and the vote now passes to the European Parliament as a whole

The vehicle emergency call system eCall has advanced one step closer to becoming a legal requirement across Europe. The European Parliament's Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee voted on 17 March in favour of mandating the technology in all new car models sold in the EU starting from 31 March 2018.
