Players across the transport ecosystem are waking up to the value of automotive data and how it can improve travel efficiency, air quality, road safety, and general liveability in urban environments. Technology companies are exploring new ways to harness, interpret and then leverage data from connected cars, buses and trucks in ways that could dramatically impact the automotive industry.
"People recognise the value of understanding the LiDAR data, the information on roadway conditions and vehicle telemetry,” observed Kyle Connor, Cisco Transportation Industry Principal. “The automotive industry wants to know how to extract this information from connected vehicles."
