Standard safety – five stars can still fall short

Euro NCAP's latest safety tests have highlighted some solid performances but the trouble boils down to standard vs optional, writes Megan Lampinen

It was a double five-star result in the latest round of Euro NCAP safety testing, with both the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Peugeot 3008 receiving top ratings. The safety agency was full of praise for both vehicles, but even five-star models leave room for improvement.
