On 17 October 2016, 58 top executives from the European steel industry signed an open letter addressed to the EU Heads of State and government. The letter addresses three primary challenges facing steel production in Europe: the EU’s anti-dumping methodology, EU trade defence instruments and the EU emissions trading system (ETS). It calls on EU policy makers to take measures to safeguard the industry against these challenges.
