Student engagement is crucial to VW’s future talent pipeline 

By offering paid internships and PhD fellowships, Volkswagen has established a robust talent pipeline at the University of Tennessee. By Stewart Burnett 

As the auto industry gears up for a zero-emission future, partnerships between automakers and universities are becoming increasingly common. These allow automakers to leverage the expertise, raw talent, and facilities of a university in the furtherance of research and development goals. For instance, Ford began its collaboration with the University of Michigan in 2014, completing more than 50 successful joint research projects before extending the partnership in 2018.
