Suzuki profit tops forecasts by 42%

While the latest results were certainly positive, they raise question over the company's forecasting skills. By Jonathan Storey

Strange to think that Suzuki began the 2023/24 fiscal year expecting a decline in operating profit. Although there were upward revisions in Q1 and Q2, the company's most recent forecast was still well short of the actual figure which rose 33% to ¥466bn, yielding a margin of 8.7%, up 1.1 points and the highest figure since 2017/18.
