Autonomous vehicle (AV) development and testing is an intensely data-driven affair, with today’s prototypes and test vehicles hoovering up terabytes worth of sensor readings to give them the edge in the AV race. This level of data collection and analysis is beyond the traditional expertise of automakers, once again creating fertile ground for partnerships and collaborations between industry incumbents and big tech players.
