The electric trucking space remains nascent compared with the relatively mature battery-electric passenger vehicle segment. As such, there is still plenty of scope for optimisation, as the industry strives to bring down total cost of ownership (TCO) to levels which can compete with internal combustion engines (ICE). Better power density will enable longer ranges, or smaller, cheaper, lighter batteries, and getting there will not require a step-change for the technology.
