The Los Angeles future mobility challenge: change is needed, but unwelcome

Angelenos are happy to pay for mobility solutions but are less keen to use them. Incentivising solo drivers to leave their cars at home requires a multi-faceted approach. By Betti Hunter

In most US cities, the automobile reigns supreme, and Los Angeles is probably the most car-centric of them all. Car culture has been celebrated in LA since the 1920s and as a result the rapidly expanding city evolved to prioritise the needs of drivers.
