Toyota: batteries are still not the only solution

Having led the world in hybrids, Toyota is not ready to give up on internal combustion engine (ICE) based technologies, continuing to espouse their benefits and the company’s ability to cut emissions through ICE efficiency improvements. Senior executives including chairman Akio Toyoda continue to promote ICE technologies, emphasising in early 2024 that it will follow a multiple technology path to reducing carbon emissions.
