Truck connectivity must serve the people first, says Volvo

Volvo Trucks says it is committed to people, and as such, all connectivity and automation developments will centre around the driver and other road users. By Xavier Boucherat

Human drivers are not going anywhere. That’s the opinion of Carl Johan Almqvist, Traffic and Product Safety Director at Volvo Trucks. In an age of continuous, rapid development, he says, it is quite easy to indulge OEMs and Tier 1s with visions of a supply chain powered by cab-less, self-driving trucks in continuous communication with each other.
