Truck platooning could potentially revolutionise freight movement. In theory, linking two or more trucks with connected technology and automated driving support systems makes for a more efficient convoy. Air drag is reduced, improving fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Automatic and immediate braking offer the promise of fewer collisions.
