Uber crash a wake-up call, but autonomous drive development continues

It has been more than five months since the fatal self-driving Uber crash of March 2018, and the automotive industry has attempted in the time since to unearth its root cause, to determine how such incidents can be avoided in the future. Suggestions as to how the industry can respond to and mitigate similar incidents in future have come thick and fast. Nevertheless, there remains a great deal of uncertainty about the impact of the Uber crash – potential or actual – and the subsequent, related events, on the growth of autonomous driving (AD) technologies.
