UPS strengthens US-Mexico border operations

Increased production in Mexico, along with a burgeoning Mexican middle-class, will spell challenges for automotive logistics moving in and out of the country

Mexican vehicle production is set to rocket in the coming years, as US-based OEMs continue to move smaller, mass-production models to facilities south of the border, accompanied by suppliers seeking to assist in local production. Kia is preparing to start production at its recently completed Pesqueria facility. BMW will begin construction of its own Mexican plant in summer 2016, whilst work on the Daimler Renault-Nissan Alliance joint plant continues.
