US awards US$3bn in projects to onshore battery supply chain

The US Department of Energy will fund 25 projects across the nation to develop and expand domestic battery production, including for EVs. By Will Girling

On 20 September 2024, the US Department of Energy (DoE) announced the approval of 25 projects across 14 states relating to advanced battery technology and materials, totalling US$3bn. The funding will serve to retrofit, expand, or establish facilities for mineral processing, component assembly, battery recycling, and other related activities.
