US growth continues as falling gas prices fuel more than just pick-ups/SUVs

A further drop in gas prices ensured that SUV and pick-up sales remained strong, but the impact has had some surprising effects in other segments as well.

Falling gas prices ensured that sales of SUVs and light trucks continued to power the US market in October, traditionally one of the weakest sales months of the year. With many buyers making their purchases amidst the Labor Day incentives in September to waiting for Black Friday and other holiday offers around Christmas, October is usually the second slowest month for sales, following only January.
