V2X helps tackle safety, mobility, and environmental challenges

Connected vehicle technologies aim to tackle some of the biggest challenges in the surface transportation industry and many organisations over the years have piloted connected vehicle projects and technologies for this reason.

Tackling driver distraction is a development driver in the automotive industry, and NHTSA and the US Department of Transportation (DOT) have been working on plans to proceed with a rulemaking to require V2X (Vehicle-to-Vehicle, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure) communication hardware in future US light vehicles.
