Construction of Volkswagen's new vehicle manufacturing plant in China commenced today (16 May) in Changsha, in the south-central province of Hunan. A contract signing ceremony and ground-breaking marked the start of construction. This plant is being built in cooperation with one of Volkswagen's joint ventures in China, Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW).
