Volkswagen turns to investors to save Audi’s Brussels plant

Investors would need to overcome many issues at Audi’s Brussels plant, including an inability to expand the site and costly logistics. By Stewart Burnett

Some clarity is beginning to emerge around Volkswagen’s potential factory closures. On 4 September 2024, Audi confirmed that it would not be moving the production of another vehicle model to its Brussels plant. It also stated that other brands from within the Volkswagen Group would not be stepping in to produce their own vehicle models at the struggling plant, meaning external investors must now find a use for it.
