Cars today are safer than ever before, thanks to an influx of smart new technologies, tighter standards and growing public awareness. However, the annual road fatality rates point to a persistent problem. With an estimated 1.35 million road deaths around the world every year, future proofing road safety could require a significant change in strategy.
