Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election could mark a turning point for the automotive industry—for better or worse—on several key fronts. Some of the biggest changes for the sector will likely come in terms of foreign trade, particularly regarding electric vehicles (EVs) and connected car technology from China, as well as workforce and labour relations, safety regulations and environmental policy.
