What exactly is microtransit? The word itself has been applied to a variety of different services but according to the American Public Transportation Association it does have a clear definition: microtransit consists of “small-scale, on-demand public transit services that that can offer fixed routes and schedules, as well as flexible routes and on-demand scheduling.”
